Here is something fun. The first one with the correct answer wins a dollar. Yep, you heard it here first. You solve the teaser and win a dollar good for lots of merchandise at many 'dollar' stores across the whole USA. Now I know many will say they new the answer but did not see the post right away. To be fair, I will use the order your response appears in the comments section. First come, first served, therefore, first winner with right answer!!!! Once A week or less often, the Cheery-biker will provide you an opportunity to bank a dollar !!!!
Here we go. There was a farmer working in his cornfield one day when a Scientist stop at his fence to ask him a question. He asked, "Does the air temperature have any effect on the sweetness of the kernels when the corn is picked and cooked?" The farmer answered, I don't know! Then the farmer, turned to the Scientist and asked, "Is it possible that some temperature somewhere in the world when measured using the Fahrenheit Scale would have the same value if measured using the Centigrade scale? The Scientist said, I don't know but I will find out. When the Scientist got back to the farmer, what was his answer, Yes or No? and if it was Yes, what temperature would that be??????
I have posted the answer and the winner as a comment. If you want to test your brain then don't read the comments until later.

Yes, absolute Zero.
Did I win????
I am going to say -40.
Well, I am sure I was wrong, but I had to get an answer in there quickly! And let's face it... I'll never be awarded a 'brilliance in science or anything remotely related to science or math' award.
The answer is "YES" and the temp is -40.
( I just wanted to make sure I was not disqualified for not saying yes!!)
For all those who haven't attempted to define the answer, tomorrow I will let everyone know if we have the right answer listed or if I will have to provide a clue!!! Have fun with it!
Natalie is right. It would be yes and -40. See it is hard to have a brain teaser when you read it on the internet. I just simply looked it up. I suspect Natalie did the same. Natalie, this is the site I used http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm?F=40&C=4.444444444444445 Where did you get your answer?
Does the air temperature have any effect on the sweetness of the kernels when the corn is picked and cooked?
The Answer is yes. The sugars in the corn start to turn to starch as soon as it is picked. When the temperature is higher this accelerates the process. This is why you should always eat corn as soon as you can once it's been picked. The kernels will be much much sweeter. Also try go to the farmers market to buy corn. The earlier the better. Pick ones that have been in shade and are cooler than the others. This will help to have sweeter tasting corn. Today's corn has been genetically altered so as to slow the process of sugar to starch, however this results in tougher corn.
That was fun. Thanks for everyone participating. I know it was easy and those that didn't respond new the winning answer and who won. Yes, Yes, the Lazy Blogger was right but maybe he did not test his brain, or maybe he did because using the internet isn't not always the easiest way. But in the future I will try and be more original in these brain teasers so we all can have fun. Yes Natalie has the right answer. Congratulations Natalie on a job well done.
Actually this was a simple algebraic problem:
C = 5/9(F-32)
Substitue X for C and F and
Solve for X.
X will equal -40 Degrees for both the Centigrade and Fahrenheit cales. This is the only degree value that works. Can anyone tell me why????
For those that felt they didn't have a fair chance to win the "Dollar"
I will publish Brain Teaser #2 on Monday July 28. All winners on that day will participate in a 'Tiebreaker' on Tuesday and the first one to get the right answer will win the coveted "Dollar". Good Luck on the next one everyone.
